I purchased the Samsung tablet 3 in white from Argos on the 31/03/14 for £139.99 for my daughter’s birthday. On the 30th Jan the tab stopped working no power and would not charge. I emailed Argos who I purchased it from who responded that I need to contact Samsung customer services which I did on the 5th Feb by telephone I was advised by the agent to bring into my nearest store or pop in the post.
I decided to pop into my nearest store. I was told that the problem was a charging problem which was not covered and would be charged for at £39.99. Since then I have received a call to be advised that it is not a charging problem but a problem with the motherboard and tha the fee to fix would be £139.99!!! I told the person to cancel the repair and I will come in and collect it back.
I have since been in contact with Samsung customer services and I am not getting anywhere.
The tablet is not even a year old yet and has no phyiscal damage and no accidental danage.
Do I keep pursing Samsung to get it repaired or do I need to contact Argos again since I purchased it from them. I still have my recepit plus I purchased it on my Argos store card.

common fault here is a damaged USB port on the motherboard.
Which would be damage unless you could prove a fault on the joins0 -
Modern usb connectors are so delicate made due to small size that even everday use can damage them, I have broken about 4 usb enclosures in under a year by removing the usb cables and my Samsung phone I sold last year had a gps issue and battery didnt last, I sent it for repair and they claimed water damage which wasnt covered, in the end I followed a guide online to take back cover off(at which point I cleaned all the connectors just incase) and sold it on with buyer aware of issue but after my little fix the phone worked perfectly like new so the claim it was water damage and repair was uneconomical as it needed new parts that cost more than a phone was a lie by Samsung(or their repair men who wanted a easy rip off income)
Your one is a little harder, it is your fault in one way but only because of how delicate they are made.0 -
Its Argos not Samsung you pursue .
But as its more than 6 months old you have to prove via an engineers report that the problem was not damage or should have lasted longer .
Its worth going back to Argos but as an engineers report has been raised by Samsung one presumes it is damage . Ask Samsung for the report and cause of the fault .0
