Tesco mobile: free tablet/no free tablet!

Ok, so nothing much in the broader scheme of things but still, somewhat annoyed.
I finally got my act together and rang Tesco Mobile to upgrade my phone, my current being about a hundred years old, give or take.
I'd had my eye on a particular model and was thrilled to be told I could have it for only £1 extra per month. Down side was losing 250 minutes, but when I was told I'd also be getting a free tablet, that swung it and I figured I'd just get people to call me more.
I checked twice with the guy dealing with my upgrade and he reassured me that yes, the free tablet was mine.
Rang back later to check a particular detail of my order, only to be told that I had been misinformed and that Upgrade Guy should certainly not have informed me that a tablet was part of the package as it wasn't. Rather disappointed and a tad miffed with this bloke. Though second guy was very apologetic, he still wouldn't chuck a few extra minutes my way!
Told you it wasn't earth shattering, but just had to vent.
Thank you!

Depends what you want to do.
If being offered the tablet was part of the reason you accepteed the deal, you could phone up and say you want to cancel as Tesco are no longer proving that offer.
What phone and deal did they offer you for how much?0 -
I would insist on them sending you the tablet or make a formal complaint. Calls are usually recorded so they should be able to check what you were offered.0

It was a Nokia Lumia 630, 750 minutes, 5000 texts and 500mb data. £11 per month. Currently paying £10 a month so little difference. My only gripe (when I though I was getting the tablet!) was that it was a reduction of minutes as I currently get 1500. I could pay more for extra minutes but I'm happy with my current outlay.
I wasn't sure about the formal complaint. I made it clear I was unhappy, and the second guy did agree to waive the first month's fee, but I suspect that as I have the option to cancel, the tablet won't be forthcoming!

Made a mistake in my first post: I'm losing 750 minutes, not 250.0
