Accidental Standing Order payment - Lloyds account

I made a mistake by forgetting to cancel my standing order payment to my landlord, when my tenancy ended which means that an extra month's rent went out of my account after I had moved out and the contract ended.
I tried to get in touch with him and keeps saying that he will refund it but it has been over 4 months since this has happened. I haven't yet contacted the bank, but would they be able to do anything e.g. revert the payment? Do I have any other options?

The bank cannot recall a standing order. If your landlord doesn't voluntarily return the money and you are owed it, you can take him to the small claims court.
Send him a Letter Before Action to start with. That is often enough to get a result.

This has nothing to do with your bank.
Someone owes you money and refuses to pay, I think it is high time that you send a formal letter before action, followed by a money claim if necessary.0 -
Thanks for the replies! Are there any charges for the small claims court?0

If things are as straight forward as you say then you should have no problems getting judgement.0
