Money off at expedia...

There's a great deal currently going on at expedia I thought i'd let you know in case you weren't aware.

It's on expedia.com - make sure it's the US website and not expedia.co.uk.

For hotel stays of 3nghts you get $100 off (roughly £65) with discount code discvr105.

For hotel stays of 5nghts you get $200 off (roughly £130) with discount code discvr201.

I've tried it and it works! I got a 3night stay in Barcelona for £24! I believe the codes work for destinations worldwide but not for every hotel.

The prices you will see throughout the booking process are in US dollars but at the end it gives you the option to either pay in US$ or in £.

Is a great deal, hope it works for people! (expires 15 March 2015)

Looks like a good deal. Can't tell which hotels are excluded (I'm guessing a lot of chain hotels), but tried it on a couple of searches and it worked. Might well use it for an upcoming booking. Thanks.

I know there used to be a rule that you couldn't use the .com version of the website if you were outside the UK. A banner used to come up on the site saying that as well, but I've just gone on it quickly and don't see it.

Are bookings outside the US allowed on there now? Just think it's worth looking into in case the bookings get cancelled (could be an issue if you have to enter a zip code then the card might not go through).
  • Expedia are one of the retailers I have had cashback through Quidco - might be a safter option for us brits.
  • Safer but potentially not as good as $100 discount. I'm tempted to try it but I'm hoping someone says it's ok first :)
  • Got £60 back last year on £1200 spend- I was happy with that - it paid the hotel for the night before our flight.
  • Like I said in my opening post I've tried it and it is fine and does work - had a 3 night stay in Barcelona for just £24!

When I first did it I also thought I might not be allowed to use it because they ask for zip code but it allows you to change your country and the final confirmation in the end is that they offer to charge your card in £.

I've got as much out of it as I think I can for my holidays (have used it more than once) so advise you to do the same before it runs out..

one bit of advice is that I think it works best on short breaks, e.g. 3-5 nights, because the larger the amount the discount doesn't really equate to as much..

Thanks arthur7171 - I thought maybe you had only recently made your first booking (and there could have still been time for it to be cancelled by them).

I might try it. We have a 3 night stay in San Diego coming up in May and it's coming in at $284 with the code compared to £245 (I think it was)on expedia.co.uk! Looks like a good deal. Would be a better percentage deal on cheaper hotels of course.

    Thanks!

I’ve got 3 weeks’ worth of hotels to book up in California for Hols in August. The code seems to work in most I’ve looked at (not actually gone thru to booking tho`). I can’t seem to find the option to pay in £UK on the Expedia site, it just totals it up in $US and asks for payment.

it's literally right at the end so after you've put your card details in, the next page it gives you 2 options pay $---- or £

If you go for £ you avoid the non sterling transaction fee from your bank
