Convert personal bank account to joint

My wife's bank has written to her to say they are considering closing her account as she doesn't pay enough in; is it feasible to just transfer all her ins and outs to my account and have her name added to the account or would that incur a charge? Or as an alternative, are there any basic bank accounts you’d recommend as she’s been turned down from a few places for being a temporary worker.

You can transfer the needed amount in and out every month if you wish.

I don't know any charges for this.

Can she not downgrade her account with the same bank? What bank is it?

That said, most normal accounts require minimum pay in only for some benefits. I have several literally dormant: Barclays, Lloyds, Smile

It should be possible to convert your sole account to a joint account- check with your bank.

And you can set up a SO to send money from that account to your wife's and she can set up a SO to send it back again.
