£350 now told it will cost another £800 minimum
Bit complicated. Bought car from independent last july. A week after buying noticed that bumper did not quite align with the wing. Wasnt too bad so left it. It kept bothering me though so decided to get it fixed. Paid for it myself. The body repairer I took it to said it had clearly had a bump and had had a bit of a bodged repair
The body repairer did a good job and the bit that was out off alignmen is now fine
However they said that when putting the bumper back on they could not get the bumper to align with the bonnet. At that stage it became clear to them that it had been in a pretty big impact. To get this other bit to align up requires more extensive work. Quoted 800 min
Do I have any comeback on the dealer I bought it off or the guys who conducted this repair. Im not sure if the bonnet didn't align with the bumper before I took it in but if it didnt shouldn't they have pointed this out

Doubt it as you didn't take it to them first and give them a chance to fix it, if indeed it would have been down to them to fix anyway.0

Depends how it was originally advertised. But to be honest I think your out of time. You need to prove it was "defective" at the point of sale after 6 months.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0

The time to have taken it up with the dealer was when you first spotted it. I'd have siad no chance now, especially as someone else has been working on it.0

Have you done a hpi check. If the dealer knew it was recorded as a insurance write off but sold it without stating this, you may have a reason to claim from them.0

It probably did align with the bonnet, because everything was bent.
Now they have straightened one piece, the bent panels elsewhere are showing up.
I suppose they should really have warned you that aligning the bit you asked for could affect the rest of the front end, but they wouldn't know without a lot of measurement and alignment checks, rather than a quick glance.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Hpi check came back clean. When i phoned then about this yesterday they said the hpi showed it had not been in an accident. I pointed this is not necessarily the case- just that it hasn't gone through insurance0
