Have you received any YouGov invitations lately?

I've been doing YouGov surveys for around 6-7 years and used to get invites regularly, maybe once a week or more. But I haven't had any invites at all since August/September 2014. I did have a busy period around August so I think I may have been ignoring a few invites around that time but it was only for about 3 weeks that I wasn't doing them so that shouldn't lead them to cut me off.

Are YouGov being generally quiet survey wise lately or is it just that I happen not to be meeting their criteria for the surveys that they do have on at the moment?

I did drop them an email to ask how come things seem so quiet but they never got back to me so thought I'd check if other people are having the same problem. It's quite impolite when they don't even acknowledge that they've received someone's email.

For the record, I'm very close to one of the payout thresholds (almost 10k points) and was planning to cash out once I reached 10k points. Can't help thinking they may be wanting to slow me from reaching the threshold so I can't request a payout. Or maybe it's a bit of a quiet period for them right now? Has anyone else noticed this happening?

  • I withdraw whenever I reach the 5000 (£50) point.
Do you get more than £100 if you have 10000 points? If not, why not collect your £50?

I agree that they seem incapable of answering emails.

When you log in to your account (for instance in order to order your £50) check if there are any surveys for you to complete. If not, look around your settings to see if there is something wrong there.

I did check before I contacted them and when I logged in it just said "There are currently no full-length surveys". And it lists the last surveys I completed in August 2014. My settings are still "As often as possible".

I see that they've changed things around on the website. Perhaps something went wrong when they transferred my details to the new system.

Update: I see I'm not the only one as there are quite a few comments here: https://yougov.co.uk/news/2014/11/07/welcome-new-yougov-website/

took me 6yrs to get £50!!!
  • I just earned my last £50 in about 9 months. I get mate 2, sometimes 3 surveys a week, and I try to do them in a timely way.

I'd advise cashing out whenever possible. You never know when they could go under and you lose all of your points, and therefore cash.
  • I'm still getting surveys from them, although never very many compared to other sites. It might help to go in and update your profile, as I did that a while back and it seemed to jolt them into sending me more surveys for a bit.
  • I run accounts for myself and my partner and between these accounts I get 5/6 surveys a week.

The key to completing more surveys is to log into the actual sites (not just YouGov) everyday - you could wait forever for an email - I sometimes complete a survey a day o YouGov - though typically 3-5 per week.

I use the search bars on Inbox Pounds, Zoombucks, Swagbucks etc as a means of earning pennies while searching individual sites - if there is no survey available at least you will earn something searching and better than Google getting it all for free.

Back to YouGov - the longer you are with them the more surveys you get offered - well thats what I found, they occasionally ask you to take part in focus groups.:)
  • Look out for extra activity around General Election time. Last time around I had several phone surveys from them following up on the party leaders' televised debates.

I don't get all that many regular survey invitations(not in a particular popular demographic I expect:() but they haven't slowed down much lately. Did one yesterday, the one before that about a week ago.

I suggest you email them and ask if there's a problem. I was with Yougov for several years then the surveys stopped although my account continued to appear to be active The reply to my email stated my account had been suspended as I had given conflicting information. They did offer to have another look if I confirmed details about myself. I didn't bother to do this but I am aware that my partner continues to receive several surveys each week.
