Wedding memories Lost forever :(

I opted to not go with the norm on my wedding day and ordered a 'wedding guest book' through a company on Notonthehighstreet. Basically they send card hearts for people to write messages on which would then be turned into a piece of wall art. The hearts arrived in good time and they were so successful on the day, with people writing their heart felt messages on for us to treasure forever. We carried them all back from France and carefully packaged and sent them back for the company to do their magic. This was back in October, and after many months of chasing my art I have just discovered their courier company are saying that the package has been lost. Any advice on what I can do? The company have offered me a refund and a voucher to spend with them...like I'd ever want to order anything from them again! I just feel this is a poor attempt at compensating this loss. I will never get those words from those people on my wedding day back. Its so upsetting. Any advice greatly appreciated.

What would you like the company to do? What do you consider as adequate compensation? Is it not possible for a new set of card hearts to be sent to all the guests, some may remember their exact words.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales
  • Refund is about all you're out of pocket and you're only actual loss.

I'd go with lincroft's suggestion, even if people can't remember exactly what they wrote there's no reason why they can't write something equally heartfelt now.
