I have mold slowly creeping it's way across the bathroom ceiling whilst I'm glued to MSE! I'm almost hoping for the internet connection to crash so I'm forced to go deal with it.

Don't remember the start of radio 1 but I do remember the test tape for virgin radio - watching the detectives, come undone, bad moon rising...

Once met Pat Sharpe at Gatwick.

Nice Mullet, Nice bloke . Off to Ibiza he was. Really showing my age now but on Invicta FM years ago there was a young Dj called Pete Tong. We were coming back from Old trafford and as we came out of the Dartford tunnel he done a request for us. Felt well proud.

My best mate and I used to go up to the Radio One studios when we were 14/15 and sit outside,

What a small world jo. I used to work opposite the radio 1 studio in Lower Regent Street (I think it was called the Paris studio) and I, with my colleague, were members of the Radio One lunchtime club. We would spend our lunchtimes there - met ALL the DJ's along with many of the guest groups.
Best thing, though, they had a very cheap canteen and my take-home salary was about £65.00 per month.

Ok Rog, you are DEFINATELY sadder than me if you were members of a club! I remember presenting Bruno Brookes with a pair of hand-customised boxer shorts on his birthday - god we were classy!

When I heard that Anthea Turner had run away with Peter Powell I wanted to tell Bruno that I would never do that to him!

Very true, jo - but what else could a broke and hungry 18 year old do to pass the lunch-time in 1968, in central London, that didn't cost a packet?
I think it was the fore-runner to becoming a DFW. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Perhaps we should start a poll to see exactly WHO is the saddest DFW of all?

Oooooh we were terrible groupies (although I use that term loosely, more like hanger's on!), once we'd seen the DJ's we wanted to see we'd wait outside Broadcasting House just incase a random celeb happened to come out! We met Mel & Kim and I think that was it! Oddly enough, met Kim again a few weeks ago at a work thing, (RIP Mel :()
