Weddings in Cyprus

My son and his gf are talking about weddings abroad, theyve been to travel agent and looked at Dominican but at a cost of around 4K its a little out of reach.

Ive told them to look closer possibly Cyprus as ive been there on hols and seen a wedding out there.

Anyone any tips on this? What would a reasonable cost be to go to Cyprus, I would say 2 adults and child, plus wedding cost in church or hotel grounds over looking the sea. Anyone else going would pay their own costs, however it would be a small gathering. so im looking for my son his gf and child to pay their costs.

Other things such as dress suits etc are all incidental as myself and mrs would pay those, so basically just looking for costs or where to look.

I went to a nice wedding in Cyprus - but as a couple, it cost us £1000 to attend (since we had to stay longer to attend the stag/hen nights). My brother is getting married in Istanbul - and thats going to cost about £600 to attend.

Frankly, I find people getting married abroad then expecting their guests to pony up large amounts of money quite rude
