MSE News: Virgin Money launches new current account – is it any good?

I think a lot of posters are missing the point about this account - it is a current account and clearly intended to be used as such (as opposed to some of the others out there that many hold, effectively, as savings accounts). The account has no charges for any unpaid returned items which should be good news to the many people who made endless posts here over the years complaining about the debt incurred by 'charges spirals'. The account does offer a cheque book, although that is not made immediately clear and if you use Virgin products you can get a discount on some (though i doubt that is a big draw for most).
This is not for everyone, and I won't be opening one. They clearly need to sort out their online banking provisions too, but it has a fair charging structure which is something many have called for for years. It is a shame that so many people seem o be affronted by the terms of the account, when presumably, they don't even hold one.0 -

Agree. You will get a lot of posters on here though saying that it offers no benefit to them, which will of course be true. The Virgin account is better than a lot of other bog standard accounts, but will not top the tables.0 -
Whatever next: "Virgin welcomes its 100th customer since launch of 'new' account"?.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0

Just please do avoid Virgin Money
I invested the full 15k limit in April 2015. Due to administrative issues over my name maiden vs married they are still holding the money nearly a year later. They refuse to return the money or open the account. They won't budge unless the Ombudsman rules against them, that could take months0
