Flights to Malaga

Hi :hello:

Booked an apartment (someone at work owns one on a complex) between Monday 22nd-Monday 29th June. We got a pretty good price between the 4 of us, but now looking at the price of flights and the are far more expensive than we anticipated!

We would be flying from Bristol to Malaga and, to get decent flight times, we're looking at £180 before including baggage! I'm open to flying from a different airport, but having had a quick look we wouldn't actually be saving any money. I'm a nervous flyer and avoid it when possible, so I've never organised flights before.

Does anyone know the cheapest travel options or can give me some first time traveller advice?

Do you really need to take a lot of luggage for a week? Most of us take twice what we use. Take less and go to a laundrette while you're there if necessary.

However, it seems as if Birmingham, Gatwick and other options are all about the same price - plus you would have extra travel costs.

Looks like you have just picked a popular time to go. Lots of people go to Malaga in June as the weather is great and it's before the school holidays.

Couple of options

1) Travel on 21st and grab a hotel room for the night of 21st in Malaga

2) Travel from different airport

3) Travel from different airport to Gibraltar - is your appt actually in Malaga or along coast towards Marbella area ?

Mondays will be prime days for business travellers, along with Fridays, so the airline will expect to be able to sell seats at a higher price on those dates. Sunday to Sunday might well be cheaper, or even Tuesday - Tuesday.

What do you count as decent flight times? Ryanair has £120 return on those dates. It's a 2 hour+ flight, even £180 doesn't sound outrageously expensive to me.

The only problem of flying into Gib it that only 4 Airports available Manchester, Heathrow, Luton & Gatwick.


Plus of course the fun of crossing the border
