Lloyds Bank - Late payment marker for £7
Comments
-
CPAs are effectively a POS payment so they can still debit an account that is closed or has a nil balance if the payment was authorised prior.
I didn't say it wasn't, I merely stated that I wondered why the poster didn't think it would affect the account (which wasn't closed) either by taking it overdrawn or a bounced payment charge. It's as if the debit card was totally unconnected.0 -
UPDATE
After completing the on-line complaint form, I received a phone call from LLoyds within 2 hours. They've basically agreed that the late payment marker should be removed from my credit report and they have also credited my account with £25 + £7 for mobile telephone call charges.
Very good customer service. I'm impressed.
Very good result considering Lloyds were not to blame.0 -

Lloyds were not to blame for the account going overdrawn - however once charges had been applied to the account they should have sent the customer a statement/letter to inform them there was an outstanding balance owed to the bank. If they did not send a statement or letter then the customer did not have chance to make a payment to keep the account within terms.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Spoke to soon!
I got an email notification from Equifax this morning. When I logged in I found another late payment marker on my LLoyds account for February! This is after they had removed the one for January and the account is in credit?!
So more time/money to waste on phone calls! *SIGH*0 -
Almost there, just call credit to sort out now.0

Sounds like the £7 late payment was "truthful" as they say, so I wonder how they managed to remove it. CR reporting is, of a course, a one-way street. If you owe one of the reporting institutions £0.01 and are late by one day in paying it they'll hit you with a late payment marker, but if they owe you money, well, we'll refund it "some time".0

Final UPDATE:
All three CRA show the correct information now.0 -

The truthfulness of the late payment marker wasn't questioned in the complaint. However, it was the zero communication from the bank that helped me to get this removed.0 -
This is a good result. The late payment marker was for a small amount and was in respect of charges. As such, I think it was probably disproportionate but as the reporting process is automated unless people raise these issues with the bank nothing will be done (and sometimes not when they do raise them, but not here thank fully).0
