Hi All,
After some advice.
I purchased a sofa at furniture village in store, promised the best price ever etc etc. However they are now £200 cheaper :-(
I only ordered these on the 27th Jan, these were purchased with a 20% and the rest interest free.
Is there anyway I can cancel the interest free loan agreement without loosing my deposit if they refuse to honour the new price?

When you made the purchase it might well have been at the lowest price that they had ever sold it at previously, hence it would have been at "the best price ever" at that particular time.
As you made the purchase in store, you are not legally entitled to cancel without at least losing whatever costs FV have incurred, but there is certainly no harm in going back into the store and speaking to the salesperson who took your order and seeing if they will do something.
If you ask nicely, they may be willing to help.
Was the deposit that you paid more than £200?
If not and they won't amend your order, you could always ask them how much of the deposit you will lose if you were to cancel.0 -
I'd be shocked if they were willing to offer a refund at all to be honest and legally they don't have to. I guess it's always worth asking but I'd suggest doing so nicely, they don't have to offer anything back.
Prices go up and down all the time and you were clearly happy with the price when you ordered, I'd suggest just forgetting it and enjoying your new sofa when it arrives.0 -
This is a classic case where people should stop looking at the prices after they've ordered.0

These types of furniture stores change prices from day to day it is always the last day at a fantastic price until the next day.0 -
What makes you think that FV did not have to pay their supplier a higher price up to the date that the price was reduced?
It isn't always the retailer who is messing about, the supplier may have had a price set up to a date, then give FV a reduced price to run as a promotion instore. If they were obliged to refund you the difference they would be out of pocket themselves.
As it has been said on here so many times in the past, would you pay them the extra £200 if the price had gone up?
No expect not. You agreed the price was acceptable at time of purchase, that is all that matters. Contract done and dusted.0 -
Check the sellers conditions - many big companies will honour price changes up to two weeks after the sale.
Where you may come unstuck though is that you have purchased under a credit agreement.0
