Sadly have to attend here in a weeks time but its very early service time.
Anyone recommend somewhere near to stay the night before, where dinner and brekky will be available near by?
Thanks.:o

Well you have a large choice with St Albans and Watford close by.
Nearest is of course the Noke at Chiswell Green.
But the traffic, getting out of the hotel, at the roundabout is busy ( or rather stationary) early starts before 8.
Have you a budget?0 -
There is a Premier inn in Bricket Wood and one in Garston. My parents quite like the one in Abbots Langley. Just down the M1, one junction, is the Watford Hilton and the Mercure. There's also a McDonalds in Garston if you're looking for a budget breakfast
Near Garston, there is a Frankie and Bennies & Chiquitos at the cinema complex. In Bricket Wood there is a pretty decent indian restaurant called The Viceroy.
If you want to go a bit further into Watford or St Albans there's a lot more choice in food. The only other hotel I'd probably recommend would be the Village Hotel in Elstree (2 junctions down M1), although they call it the London Watford branch.
If you are on an up-scale budget, there's also The Grove (It's where the England team stay when playing at Wembley). The Glasshouse Buffet restaurant is very good.0 -

And if you go there please take me., But be prepared to mortgage your home.
The Premier inns are a good idea, you would be traveling North , correct side of the road , missing nearly all the traffic.0 -
I went for my birthday last year.. I think it was £50 a head. To be honest, for the money there's other restaurants I'd spend the money on in London.. But I digress! And if you go there please take me., But be prepared to mortgage your home.

The hearses going to the crematorium often drive through Bricket Wood, down Smug Oak Lane (where the Bricket Wood Premier inn is). It's ok as a hotel, just don't eat there (It's a beefeater). If you stay there, then Radlett is on your doorstep - and you've got a bunch of nice restaurants there - inc. Pizza Express and Prezzo.0 -
Your Biased ! St Albans trumps Radlett every time.hen Radlett is on your doorstep
Ps Emma Watson was at the Grove last time and yes its over priced.0 -
True, but St Albans traffic is rubbish! I'd rather head to Barnet or Borehamwood.. We've bumped into 1/2 the Eastenders cast in Nandos before! If you go to the Village hotel in Elstree tonight you'll meet most of the Celeb BB cast.Your Biased ! St Albans trumps Radlett every time.

Watford is closer to Garston anyway, and they've got a load of new restaurants. L'Artista in Watford is lovely and it's where I'd eat in the centre of Watford.
I think i'd agree about The Grove being over-priced too. It's the first time i've eaten there and I won't be rushing back.0 -

Giving myself an hour to get to Watford Hospital for 8am from Redbourn ..Wednesday morning this week , I was late! And you say St Albans traffic is bad,,,,,,,,, and have you ever tried to park at the Hospital.
Ps has the Red Lion improved?0 -
I wouldn't go to Watford General if I was on fire.. (Since I can get 5* treatment at Barnet!)
The Red lion is ok..0 -

The Noke is where the wake is I believe, how long in travel time terms does it take from the Noke to/from the Crematorium?
Who is Emma Watson?Your Biased ! St Albans trumps Radlett every time.
