They've offered this for a while. Their full current account, as opposed to the basic one, is still in the pipeline.

Your a bit slow on this it was released quite a while ago, its also not their full current account.

Its a basic account bit like Barclays cash account, and Natwest/RBS Basic Account.

Its the only basic account that I'm aware off that that offers any sort of interest on money that is in the account, so for those that can only get this type of account its a plus point I guess.

Also from what I remember reading a while back the internet banking is very basic and you can't really do anything online apart from check your balance, recent transactions and check your direct debits. Everything else has to be done in branch or over the phone, at least with most other banks basic accounts practically everything can be done online.

Admittedly the debit card is a nice design compared to most other banks, so if you are a debit card collector and some MSE's are then I guess its one to have in your collection.

This account is not available at any of the "stores" in London which is a bit crap.

This bank really needs to get into gear, what is it doing, its been a ''proper bank" for over two years and it seems to be sitting on its hands and instead of introducing products which customers want it is instead buying fancy chairs and debit card designs.

I really do like that card design though, hope they keep it for their main current accounts.

I have seen that they took over Northern rock I wonder if they adopted the banking website as well perhaps that was that same.

No as I have a Northern Rock current account and can do most things online.

I'm waiting to see what Virgin Money are going to do with these old Northern Rock accounts.
