Estate Agents ignoring issues/lying

Hi,
I'm after a bit of advice.
Me and the Mrs lived in a property between Nov 2012 and Nov 2014.
During the winter we noticed that the boiler wasn't efficiently heating up the flat. The pressure on the boiler kept dropping therefore we had to really crank the heating to max to even get warm radiators. Reported it to Estate Agents a few times. June 2013 a £1200 bill for gas alone arrives (that's for 6 months of use) so contact agent again and to remind about gas safety certificate running out soon. Nothing happens.
We keep phoning and sending letters, another year passes by and nothing. In July 2014 a guy comes out for 2 minutes, has a look at the boiler and says that Pressure Relieve Valve isn't working so needs to be fixed ASAP. In the meantime the estate agent closes and is bought out by a national chain. We keep on reporting issues, no gas safety certificate for 2 years now. Eventually we moved out of the property and I launched an official complaint. Especially that my heating bill for 12 months was over £2500, this is bearing in mind both me and the mrs work full time and only had heating on in the evening and 2 hrs in the morning.
Just had a response from the Estate Agents saying that GSC was in place the whole time, they provided scans of certificates. Certificates are both issued by the same engineer ( odd as 2 different estate agents and from the year before the guy was different). The certificates have no signature from either of us or the agent/landlord. The visit was conducted on the days both me and the wife were at work so no way he could have come in. How can I call their lie??? Do I report the engineer???
How to take it further???

Check whether the engineer is on the gas safe register (via their website).
If so, report them for forging certificate, if not, report them for pretending to be registered, criminal offence I think.0 -
So at best they let an engineer in with notice?
- more reasons to change the locks...0 -
I don't see why it is strange that the same engineer was used - that is presumably the landlord's selected engineer.
Does the LL/agent not have a key?
But yes, check he's GasSafe registered.
If you seriously suspect the certificat might not be genuine/valid, contact GasSafe.
You could also complain to HSE if you think there was no genuine inspection.
In fact I'm amazed you did not complain at the time. Why now after you've left......?0 -
Report it to the HSE. They may have had similar allegations from other people before. Call them tomorrow and let them know your concerns. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
The engineer is not landlord's own, apparently it's the agents engineer but I don't believe it as the agent has changed and I now for a fact that the previous agent used different guy.
I complained about it before just not officially. It has been a manic year as my wife had a complicated pregnancy so my mind was prioritising different things.0
