Paint flaking off 08 C2 VTS do I have any comeback?
Bought a C2 citroen 2008 from Evan Halshaw 5 months ago.
Car has had various issues which they managed to fix within the first 3 months OK.
Found today red paint has failed on the bonnet and is flaking off around the washer jets. Down one side of bonnet top clear coat has failed and turned white and rough to touch.
Car was pristine when bought and paint failure has only just happened within last few days. ?cold weather related?
Do I just suck it up and pay for full respray of bonnet?

Sounds like it was a poor front end respray that has failed. Maybe they had it done on the cheap or a previous owner. I doubt Evans Halshaw will entertain any kind of repair. Worth a try though.0

That's what I thought.0

I did pay with a credit card for the full amount, is it worth pursing that end?
I don't think 5 months is a reasonable length of time for bodywork to last.0 -
sounds like the paint lacquer has failed because it was applied in damp conditions, you cant really blame dealer but they might be willing to do a repair at cost for continued business if approached right, its what i would to to keep parties happy0

SOGA says that a defect arising within 6 months of purchase is deemed to be present at the point of sale. It is for the seller to prove otherwise. However a lot depends on how much you paid, how it was advertised and how many miles it's done. Plus isn't there any manufacturer's warranty left that may cover the bodywork?PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0

Did you pay for the front end to be resprayed before you bought it?
You did know that there was a possibility that the paintwork on your 7 year old car could of been 7 years old already?"Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0 -

Does it really say that or is that your interpretation of it?0 -
