I recieved a letter this morning from f/direct saying that due to no movement in the e account it would be withdrawn from my accounts in the next two weeks, so today i did a transfer in just to keep it going, the letter assures me that it would make no difference to the running of the accounts , as you know the £1 in the e account means no bank charges,im only posting this for info only.

Did the letter mention that it was being "withdrawn" or made "dormant"?0

I have been a First Direct customer for 3 years. I opened an Everyday eSaver account with £1 at the outset and the only movements have been when the proceeds of my maturing Regular Savers have moved into and out of it each year. No threat of closure so far.0

Me too and for a lot longer than three years.
The annual moving in of the expired regular saver and moving out is enough to stop any automated flags / letters for inactive/dormant accounts.
Probably worth anyone who doesn't drop the matured regular saver into that account before moving it out and relies on it for the fee waiver doing an annual transfer of £1 in and out!0 -

Yes I did a movement of money just to see it kept visible on my screen, it's only my second matureing year, so I don't know why they picked me out, anyway I've stopped that now.:)0 -

Hi Alan.
My matureing saver account was moved in to the regular account & not the e saver, so that account had only £1 in it over the 2 years, now it has £11 for now,0 -
I wonder if this is a way of picking off the people that just keep an e-Saver for the purposes of not paying the FD Banking Fee.0
