Vanquis Statement - supposed to be available today...

...but as yet nothing. :/

Is that normal? I've opted for online only statements to avoid the 50p charge.

I'm keen to pay it off ASAP.

you have a couple of weeks after statement is issued before you need to pay.

That's good to know, thanks :)

But a bit odd that is says "Next statement date 05 Feb 15". Or does that mean the statement will include today, so it will be out tomorrow?

Relax. It's not uncommon for a credit card statement to take a day or so to be produced. It will be dated 5th February.

frustrating when you want to get it paid but it takes a while for vanquis to update your statement on the due date I find its normally late evening before its ready
this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk

It was there when I checked at around 11pm :)

I've set up a minimum payment by DD. Does anyone know how many days before the due date that comes out? I want to pay the whole lot off before then, but equally don't want to pay it too much in a advance if I needn't.

If you've set up a DD then the payment will automatically be made on the actual due date itself. Eg. If payment is due BY 10th Feb, then the DD will pay out ON the 10th Feb not before.

Not wishing to tell you how to conduct your repayments but if you can, change the DD to pay the full amount and not the minimum amount as the interest rates are horrendous on outstanding balances and full payment reflects well on your credit record, over time.

Oh, absolutely - I really don't want to be paying the interest.

Can I not pay the whole lot off before the due date despite having the minimum DD set up? I'd rather do it that way, if it is possible.

  • If you pay it in full then there won't be a DD payment. I do this all the time - I have the DD set up for the minimum - just in case- but I always pay the balance in full on the Vanquis website.

Great. I shall do this a week before the due date.

    Thanks all :)
