Pet insurance claim in first 14 days?

Hi all,
Just a quick question about pet insurance, i applied for pet insurance for my puppy last week which all was fine but then at the weekend my puppy was in an accident and suffered a broken leg and had to have surgery 😥😥 now my question is , it stated when I applied that cover for injury starts straight away but illness not for 14 days, so going on this we should be able to claim but because it was such a new policy and I've not had animals before I'm not sure if they will pay out because it was such a new policy? I can prove it didn't happen before I took the policy out as we had her injections at vets in between taking the policy out and the accident, any experience would be greatly welcomed. Thank you

I cant see that it would be a problem to be honest.
Cover for Injury starts straight away is pretty clear so I wouldn't worry about it.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Ah good I was thinking the same was just worried within being in the first few days there might of been something in place that meant we couldn't. Thanks for your reply0

There is, but only for sickness. You say this was an accident not sickness and there is no exclusion for that.
Its easier for you to find a lump on your dog, buy insurance and then take them to the vet to get a diagnosis of cancer than have your animal bleeding out and you buy insurance then wait X days for it to come into effect.
Insurers think people are devious but not cruel0
