My son is trying to open a high interest savings account so I looked on the main site and we decided on the Sainsburys 6.25% online account but as we started we realised you have to be 18. He is 16, can anyone recommend a bank account for his savings that is high interest please??

Thanks

Anyone?? I've still ben looking and they all seem to stipulate 18 years old. How should a 16 year gain the most interest? He has about £1000 and hopes to add more.

    Thanks in advance

Hi Mae, you would get a lot better advice/Response if you post it in the Saving Account Forum what can be found at

Just to add, he can get a mini cash ISA at 16, not sure if they'd give the highest returns but the tax free interest is always a good idea
No longer using this account for new posts from 2013
