Harveys furniture delivery delays.

Ordered a sofa on the 18 Jan, on the Harveys website it stated 14 day delivery. Asked in store about 14 day delivery yes no problem could even be sooner, asked several times about the delivery was assured it would be no problem, 14 days or even less. 19th Jan the phone call, no can do 2 weeks but we can do 11 Feb way beyond the so called 2 week delivery target.
Today yet another phone call, they want to cancel that 11 Feb and rearrange another date, At the moment we have not agreed to another date because we have just lost all faith in the company.
So if you want your furniture in a hurry, you might want to go elsewhere, dunno where........

We fought and kinda got a score draw. Got our delivery money refunded, not a victory, but our heads are held high, our bank balance has grown by £60...0

can you expand on that ??
was expecting a delivery tomorrow from Harveys (ordered on Boxing day) told 4 weeks in store, then told 7 weeks
got a text earlier informing me its been put back to 26.Feb
spent over 1 hour earlier getting passed from pillar to post, eventually got through to CS, asked for compensastion, informed they will look into this after delivery is completed
informed them I have taken day off tomorrow now, its to late to cancel that also I'll need another day off work now0 -

looks like we got the same, to be fair it was painless and very easy, had to speak to the manager was expecting a battle, far from it
didn't even have to explain to much, agreed practiclly straight away
just got to wait now for customer services to sort it out
a happy ending :j:j0 -

We're waiting for a Harveys sofa, originally supposed to be delivered Easter week.
Got a phone call saying it would be delayed until 1st May. Lady on phone said "we don't normally talk compensation, but will offer 20% discount (£200) for the delay".
Luckily we aren't in a rush for it.0 -

We are in same boat. was suppose to deliver end of this month(april) but after chasing it several times they said its expected to land in uk 1 June and 2-3 more weeks until i get it delivered.
Customer care not willing to discuss compensation now and staying its post delivery department who deals with it so have to wait till i get them and than ask for it. Not sure about that as once its delivered it will be more difficult to negotiate.
How did you manage to get compensation before delivery?
your help is much appreciated0 -

Just to update, we now have our sofa on the day and time slot agreed, by two very efficient and professional delivery men.
Communications leading up to delivery were very good. Had a phone call a couple of weeks ago to choose delivery date, text message two days ago to remind/confirm and a phone call half an hour before delivery.
Despite the initial delay, very happy and £200 better off than we thought we would be :T0 -
I see Harvey's are as crap as ever ! I remember ordering a table and chairs from them in 2006 for Xmas ( ordered in Sep !! ) ... I can recall ringing them every day and then telling them I will be picketing their store if they didn't deliver as promised ! Totally useless company - I would never ever buy from them again !Stuck on the carousel in Disneyland's Fantasyland
