santander unarranged overdraft question

Hi, I am full time employed with my wage being paid directly into 1 - 2-3 account which was opened in may last year.
I asked about setting up a small overdraft (£100) which would be a safety net to which I was told I had to wait 6 months to apply which I understood.
As i get paid 4 weekly my wages get paid in on a different date each month, and as I have alot of direct debits going out throughout the month I have in the last 2 months gone into an unarranged overdraft ( £60 + £ 35) and then been paid my wages within 2 days of both occasions. I have been charged £12 each month for this.
Is there any point applying for an overdraft now or will I instantly get refused because of going overdrawn??
I am recently separated and still trying to get my budget sorted and any advice would be much appreciated.

No point applying. You need at least six months without going over drawn. Can you move any direct debit dates around to fit in with your pay? You could also just make a note of what comes out and when and make sure the money is there to cover it. Getting paid four weekly is more frequent than those who get paid monthly so it should be easy to stay in the black.0
