Nationwide FPS issue 5th Feb

Nationwide are having problems with incoming and outgoing Faster Payments today; from their Service Availability page:

We’re sorry to tell you there are ongoing delays to outgoing and incoming Faster Payments. All payments you’ve sent will be processed as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience.

A payment that I made from my Virgin account to my FlexDirect at around 9 this morning has still not shown up, so if you're expecting something that involves Nationwide it will probably be late.

  • This has hit me hard, I'm switching away from Nationwide to Santander and they've closed my current account today at Nationwide and I assume started the transfer of my balance to Santander. This is the final stage of the switch which I guess is just bad timing.

    Santander balance has been showing £0.00 all day and my Nationwide Current account is gone :(

    Over £1000 is sitting somewhere and I cant access it!

    Santander arent being very helpful either, I asked them a couple of days ago to match my overdraft with nationwide but they wont set it up until they can see some transactions going into my account...

    Their words were... its not us, its Nationwides fault... Great customer service and help for a new customer!
  • I've had £1000 floating in the ether between Nationwide and Yorkshire Bank since this morning, when it could have been making money babies in either one... Not pleased.

    Not as big a sum as above but I made a small transfer out of NW at 10am this morning – its still not appeared in the recipient’s account 8 hours later!

    Yes, today's the day I chose to do my transfers for current account interest, maybe not the best day. The transfer to Nationwide has now arrived but the transfer out to TSB is in progress somewhere.
  • It seems to have been fixed now - at least I had decided to cancel my standing orders for the monthly 'bounce' and do it all manually this month! It could have been a whole lot messier.
