halifax vs hsbc 12 months on purchases

i am debating whether to get a halifax one card with 12 months on purchases or the hsbc ?

Can anyone tell me what kind of credit limits they have got on these cards i need about 5000, i have a decent credit history??

can i achieve that or will they give me a card with a limit of £500??

I got a limit of £8000 with halifax, but see me thread below - I was very unhappy with the customer service.

No one can predict what credit limit you can get.

If thats your only criteria on deciding between the 2 cards then just go for which one you would prefer to have in your wallet.

I have £900 limit on the Halifax. A friend has £250 on HSBC.

I was offered 3700 on Halifax. I have a very good credit rating (no late payments, defaults etc) I was happy with that to be honest.

What I think shazkhan111 needs is feedback from people with both and can therefore compare limits. Not absolutely right as credit profiles will vary and hsbc / halifax may prefer different features. For what it's worth I used to have 8k with hsbc and 12k with halifax, both now closed.
