Freeview/Video help

Just ordered a TV with integrated Freeview for my mam.Having done so started to think - How do you tape if (I presume) the aerial cable goes straight into the TV rather than the vcr? Also if you can tape (which you must be able to surely) can you only tape the side you're watching on Freeview? Thanks in advance.

Depends on which TV you buy, I guess. Mine has a SCART socket which outputs the freeview signal, so I feed the aerial into the TV, then pass the FV signal out via SCART to my DVD Recorder.

Yes, you need to be watching the side you want to record (unless it has twin freeview tuners). On mine, I can switch to analogue TV and watch channels 1-5 without affecting what I'm recording off FV. You also need to set the timer if you intend to record something while the set is switched off, otherwise you get no signal!
