Nothing ventured is nothing gained. So long as no fees are involved by yourself, you have nothing to lose in giving it a shot.

My main priority is to ensure that this is a good and progressive role offering security and paying a reasonable amount more than I'm getting.
Keep in mind that there is normally virtually no job security during the first two years.
There are ways round this in a true "head hunted" situation. These can include a minimum period of employment or an unusually long period of contractual notice, which amount to much the same thing. Alternatively a significant "golden hello" or a pre agreed "golden handshake". It all really comes down to how much they want you and / or how much risk you are willing to take. If you are in a position to negotiate anything along these lines then you need to take proper legal advice.0 -
I've lost interest in this approach now, I had an invitation to attend a formal interview which doesn't really interest me, it's less of an approach at this stage and more of a formal process. I wasn't looing to move and I'm not engaging in said processes.0

Being head hunted is something the media portray as something that is special or even glamorous. It can be where a large firm has to search the globe to find a new chief executive. But generally it is stealing other firm's staff. Be flattered by it if you want, but remember you will be joining a firm which has probably has dubious business ethics. Such firms might not last for long.0
