Thursday 5 February - What small DFW things will you do today?

Good morning everyone. Woken up with a nasty cough and was considering a day off but we don't get full pay when sick so decided it wasn't worth it. Also got somebody coming to put new floorboards down where my washing machine leaked, which I only remembered at 11:30pm last night, meaning I had to drag all my belongings out of my (large) understairs cupboard before bed!
Can't do a NSD today as my crochet group meets in a cafe and it would be rude not to buy a drink. But I will get a tea as that lasts longer.
-Use £1.99 fast food voucher for dinner as won't have time to go home before crochet.
-Don't buy anything from the canteen
-Use opportunity of having all my stuff in my living room to really look for things to sell. Have remembered I now have two gas stoves for example.
-Check usual sites for surveys and FPL
-No spend day tomorrow!February No Spend Days Target: 10
Money to pay for 10 weeks of driving lessons: £75/2100 -
Morning all!
Sorry you're feeling poorly Bobarella.
So the house was a complete mess when I got home last night which is a good thing as it means OH had been busy! Hoping to have the plastering finished this weekend, well except the living room which will be tackled at a later date! Excited that progress is being made, not excited that I have to magic the money to pay for these things!
So today I have/will:-
* Check banks
* Check TCB
* Check free postcode lottery
* Bring lunch to work
* Fill water bottle up at work
* Earn more on One Poll
* Take chicken out of freezer for dinner
* Dinner from stores
Probably won't go to Zumba tonight so that I can help get things ready for this weekend - need to shift stuff around! However that does mean that it could be a NSD if I behave myself!
Hope you all have a good day!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89

NEWSFLASH: Get a £10 parcel delivered free!
I have just been to www.parcel2go.com to compare parcel sending prices. On the first page it says to quote "OFFERFREE" for free delivery of one parcel up to the cost of £10 if you are a new customer. It says the offer expired in Jan however it just let me use it, no payment details taken. Label successfully printed and accepted in the shop that collects Hermes parcels. (The small print says the offer expires in Jan or when 10,000 parcels have been claimed whichever happens the later.) Just used it to post an eBay item I sold.
I recommend using parcel price comparison sites. This parcel would've cost £12.50 by Royal Mail but only £5.10 through MyHermes.

Morning folks,
Thanks to ziggy for starting us off.
Hugs and good luck to those who need them. High fives to everyone else
Another disturbed night chez Fanta. I think my brain was trying to squeeze through every orifice in my skull. Ended up in work 1.5 hours late but couldn't really cry off as I've got a pretty busy and important day today. I have a proposal to present to the senior management team that I'm hoping will be both a: impressive and b: avoid further interference in the department! - meeting postponed. grrrrr.
dfw things today:- B/L/D from stores
- Pack suitcase (did not do this last night)
- Get hair dye at lunchtime to do tonight/tomorrow morning - done
- Fill in gas and elec readings
- Fill in new standing order form to raise rent and post
- Downloaded Starbucks rewards app - my health insurance entitles me to a free coffee once a week
Apparently there will be iTunes and Vue cinema rewards coming too! - done
- Non-free coffee with friend at lunchtime. Have brought lunch with me to avoid buying overpriced sandwich - done
- Hope to God that OH feeds himself while I'm away. I haven't made him any food. Yesterday he ate a chocolate orange: the breakfast of champions...
- Charge phone in work - done
- Check online banking and reconcile spreadsheet (spreadsheet showing a lower total than account? V. confused)
- Small shop on way home to get milk and possibly some bits to tempt OH to eat. Can get money back for milk on shoptize app.
Have a good one all

Morning all,
Well, yesterday's snow did not arrive & today it's raining. It must be warmer because I'm only wearing 3 layers today!
NOT the most scintillating of lists, but here it is:
*Saved the usual titchy bits of energy by switching off iron for final garment (actually, saved most energy because of the fact that there was very little ironing in the basket once I'd fished out everything else), also switched both de-humidyfiers off when I realised there wasn't any steam this morning! Shows how we just do things out of pure habit.
*Make a pasta bake for tonight's dinner (to use up wilty mushrooms, ham on its last date, half a pepper, etc). Make a spare one to freeze. This fell off yesterday's list as I got immersed in something else.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch & work snacks.
*Do meal plans for next week.
*Write shopping list.
*Did a few surveys. Wasn't really in the mood, but am getting close to a cash-in on Toluna....3rd one this year.
*Nobbled mr f over breakfast to decide on a nice outing/walk at the weekend which will be both nice & free. Sorted.
*Wrapped birthday gifts for friend. Card from stores, wrappings all recycled, also box for posting.
*Car insurance docs arrived. Checked them to make sure we definitely got the cheaper online price. We did.
*5th Feb, so de-cluttered 5 items. I'm not really a hoarder, but why have I hung on to some of this stuff? Am keeping a note of everything I've de-cluttered, as will do blog-post at the end of the month, & I'm also trying to keep my de-cluttered stuff out of landfill where possible. mr f reckons I'll be struggling by the time it gets to 23rd, 24th Feb, etc, when I'll be de-cluttering over 20 items every day, but I won't be. I know I will do this. I didn't think I had much cr*p, but now I've started, I'm seeing it everywhere!
Have a good day, all.
Bob - Yes, your body is probably telling you that it needs a rest! Our bodies (& minds) tell us lots of things if only we'll listen. You seem to rush about everywhere by 'Bob-power'. I go a bit like you describe when my blood sugar goes a bit too low.....I start feeding myself dried fruit, banana & wholemeal toast & I pick up. Hope you're not sickening for a lergy & feel better soon, same goes for everyone else on here not feeling 100% i.e CLF!

Thanks very much all, I am taking it easy. I had a nice shower, washed my hair & dried it, if I dont it goes all yucky as its so thick it stays wet all day. Then got dressed, but put my dressing gown back over the top as its so chilly and its making me feel comforted...
Have spent my morning updating our financial records spreadsheet. So light duties. Oh and my mum rang..
Puzzled - You have my sympathies regarding not getting sick pay. Im self employed & so you just get into the habit of always working even when sick. Im lucky today Im not supposed to be at work or I would be.
Carrie - Hope you get your OH to eat something healthy. And good luck with your presentation, I used to hate those!
Foxgloves - Sorry we cross posted. Am so glad you are enjoying the Mins challenge. It works because it helps motivate you, and you come back to things you may have ignored and then declutter them because they no longer matter either. My big ones which advanced Mins players seem to always get to eventually are getting rid of physical paper full stop, scanning everything & using products like Evernotes to virtually store it all. And the same with photos. I could free up an entire cupboard if I did that as I have so many photo albumns, unopened in years, and framed photos.
Both of these projects need considerable energy though, and with Mr Bobs comic collection still to dismantle, I think I am considering them projects for late 2015 at the very earliest.
Thanks as well. I am a high energy person and I do rush around. Normally dont crash quite like this though. So yes hopefully not ill. Just had a lovely grapefruit for lunch so that was refreshing." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Hi
Thanks for starting us off Ziggy.
Late post for me today, realised why been feeling rough last few days, am totally wiped out with a fluy type cold. Am now so full of cold and flu tablets my eyes have crossed. They are wonderful though.
In work today am taking it wasy, watched Jim Collin, from good to great on youtube and Zig Ziglar, would normally just not make time for this. Ideal when feeling rough!
Am now making lists of things/goals for when recovered. Hopefully very very soon.
Also
Checked banking, no mean feat when I have been up all night shivering! All as it should be, sadly
ordered a quilting ruler, I need to get my squares more square and a walking foot for machine. This is my new skill for 2015, I have never been any good at sewing and think it is time I had a go!
Spag bol from stores tonight.
Done cashflows and spreadhseets. Roll on April 23rd:rotfl:
Just realised cold and flu are well out of date, so feeling frugally ill!
Keep well everyone, which probably means stay away from me a the moment.
