Packaged bank accounts

I have a Barclays bank account, it was a student account but turned into a graduate account, when opening the graduate account I was informed about the £7 package I could have to allow me to have a free overdraft and various other things.
in the last year I have been paying my £7 and I have also been having overdraft charges taken out of my account. I have asked barlcays about this and they said this is for been in my overdraft, however my understanding was always that this £7 package deal covered me to have a free overdraft facility? Is this correct or am I wrong?

because I was never informed about this, do I have any room for complaining to get my overdraft charges back?
I have to say it was a while ago since I graduated and I went into the bank to ask them about moving accounts and they told me I didn't need to move accounts and could remain on this one. I was never informed after my 3 years that it was not a free overdraft any longer

Daily overdraft fees are charged on your overdraft balance. If you go over the fee-free amount, you’ll be charged on the whole balance of your arranged overdraft as follows:
    Up to £1,000 – 25p per day
Over £1,000 and up to £2,000 – 50p per day
    Over £2,000 – £1 per day
The maximum arranged overdraft is £3,000.
    Representative example:
Fee-free overdraft up to £3,000 (subject to application and status) while you stay within that limit. For your 2nd year after graduation: Up to £2,000 fee-free. If you use an overdraft of £2,200, you will be charged £1 a day when you use it.
