Had a dishwasher turn up today from Woolworths.co.uk and it was damaged. I sent them the complaint below but at present they are refusing to exchange my dishwasher
We had a dishwasher delivered and it has a scratch and dent on the front of it. Unfortunately due to the fact that our plumbing has been installed without a stop !!!! or isolated valve at the point of connection to the dishwasher I had to turn the water to the whole house off just so I could disconnect our old dishwasher. Once I had checked the delivery I found the damage but the drivers had already left with my old dishwasher. I phoned up your customer service line to make the complaint to be told that someone would call me back to arrange collection and a redelivery. After several hours wait and no phone call I was forced to connect the dishwasher just so that I could turn the water back on for my wife and baby. I then called back in the afternoon only to be told that I now can't have an exchange as I connected it but would have been left without water for over 4 days if I had waited for the replacement. I am extremely disappointed with your company at present and although I feel I have been forced into accepting a discounted price I have ended up with a graded or substandard good. I still want an exchange.
Am I within my rights to demand they exchange it?

Did you accept a discount, get some money back? And why not just fit a blanking nut to the connection.0

Would it not be sensible to sort out your plumbing?0

Why do you think Woolworths might be interested in the intricacies of your plumbing?0
