Is my credit card approval spam?

Yesterday I used the eligibility checker and then applied for the balance transfer credit card with Santander. I received the acknowlement in my outlook emails which is the email I used for the application. This morning I received an email to say my application has been successful, it looks genuine and it uses my name and half my postcode, it details all paperwork to be sent through the post, separate letters for security etc not directing me to a link BUT its in my BT email which is the address linked to here and my main address.
Is this spam? Could it be linked to the checker? Seems very odd.

Won't be linked to the checker at all.
It'd be very coincidental if it were spam. If it's not asking you to do anything, I wouldn't worry about it. You can phone up Santander and see what details they have on file for you if you want to double check.Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

OP, have you had any dealings with Santander before? Or perhaps one of their component parts, like Abbey (National). They have ingenious ways of merging old and new data, such as email addresses. Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??

Good point. Santander did take over my asda credit card which then changed yet again and was closed several years ago but I think it probably would have been my BT email address then. It was just weird getting one on each address.
Thanks both of you.0
