New bulb blown in less than 48 hours
Can anyone tell me if i can get my money back or an exchange.
I bought an H7 standard headlight bulb( £9.99) from Halfords Monday night, as they were the only place open at that time.
Wednesday morning - today - its blown. Their site says no guarantee or warranty but where do I stand on an exchange?
Any help greatly appreciated

When you get to the end of your tether, tie a knot and hang on.

Did you touch the glass or can you prove you didn't?0

As Spicy said, if you touched the glass, you've got no chance. Touching the glass can kill a bulb unless you clean it thoroughly with alcohol. I have just removed a bulb and found a fingerprint on it. The fingerprint has not only burnt, but has actually scarred the glass. You can't get rid of it, so that bit of grease from your finger goes through quite a state change from the heat and this damages the glass.0

Either unlucky or do you have a wiring issue?
Before sticking another bulb in there get it checked.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Confirm the bulb is dead.
No issues with water in the headlight?0 -
only way to check is go in and ask.
if there was grease on it from fingerprint there should be evidence of markings of it.
If there are no markings and the filament is broken then it's a fault product.
I suspect wheter you get a refund or not is up to the whims of the manager - a cynical manager might think you're returning your old faulty bulb for a freebie. Someone who believes you might be more inclined to give refund.0 -
Good news, after showing the staff at Halfords both blown bulbs they gave me a replacement. Hopefully it will last longer. When you get to the end of your tether, tie a knot and hang on.0
