Draw out everything apart from DD's and standing orders on payday and use cash.

    Banks can't be trusted
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

    Banks can't be trusted

A second (/third/fourth etc) current account at another bank, as well as a couple of good credit cards are a sensible precaution to take.

But the Tesco outage isn't too severe, anyway
    1. it doesn't affect all customers
    2. everyone's debit card is still working so you can make purchases and withdraw cash
    3. Tesco Bank CS can make transfers or payments for you and they are just one phonecall away

Does anyone have a working 0345 number or 01/02 to contact Tesco Bank Online Help? As the they only advertise 0845.
  • Has there been a data breach. Seems a big coincidence that on the day where Tesco systems are down I receive an email, specifically stating I am a customer and to log in via the email. I have never received or heard of a Tesco specific phishing email before so it does seem rather coincidental that the site goes down and these emails are sent?

Interesting! I, too, received that e-mail and have only very recently opened a couple of Tesco current accounts......

I didn't take up the "kind invitation" to log in through the link shown...

Not if your user details have been purged. They offer you one of two options:
    a) get new security number auto generated and sent out by mobile phone
    b) wait for the current outage to end just in case your purged details will then reappear allowing you to log in

But if the user details aren't recovered when they reboot how quickly can a new customer number (bearing in mind they have no business losing the old one) be instated - never mind new security numbers which only work with an existing username?
.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam

0141 278 6081 from the back of your debit card.

Various other numbers that may or may not work on saynoto870.com

Whose user details have been purged?

What has a reboot, and existing username, a security number etc got to do with the third option listed by colsten (calling Tesco CS to make transfer and payments)?

Because when I phoned Tesco this afternoon, I was connected without being asked for digits from my security number. The assitant could not perform any transactions for me. When there is no username (which would be linked to the account number you supply) that can be traced from their end, they can't ask for digits from the security number can they?
