Needing a new thermostat?
Our Grand Voyager one was constantly open, so it never got any heat about it.
The voyager one was awkward to get to (dont think it was the cheapest either) so I used one out a Renault 5 and inserted it in the top radiator hose (thanks to whoever posted that one online).
Drilled 2 x 1mm holes in it to stop air locks and jubilee clipped it in place in the hose.0 -
No idea mate, any way I can check this myself to see?
Its a VW Bora TDI0 -
I had the same issue a year or 2 back. It was the thermostat that had failed open so always had maximum cooling. Other possibility is the coolant temperature sensor has gone diffy. Both are usually cheap to fix. New thermostat was about £10 and temperature sensor about £40. Easy to do on your own if you are even slightly handy with a spanner.0

Would this affect how long it takes to heat up the car environment for the passengers? Because it takes about 10-15 minutes these days haha.0

With the price of a thermostat being peanuts then just change it and see if that works. Only way to test it that I know of is to take it out and drop it into boiling water and see if it opens. If it doesn't change it has failed. As it involves the same work may as well just change it anyway.0

Some thermostats cost an awful lot of peanuts and require half the engine to be dismantled to replace.0 -

If the heaters still get as warm as they did when it used to hit 90oC then it's likely the CTS (coolant temperature sensor)
If the heaters are only luke warm and not as warm as they used to be at 90oC then it's likely the thermostat. All your base are belong to us.0 -
Jesus. I thought that with having Jag's any parts would be at the top of the price ranges, evidently not.0
