been quoted 350+vat for fitting 7 TRVs, is that reasonable?

Better off fitting a programmable thermostat. This costs around £65 and fitting, depends on your skill level. Them drop to 19C and we use 11,000 kWh a year.

Got one of those already, we just want to control individual radiators0 -
Then to be honest, TRVs will not give you any more real savings. we tried when we moved with TRVs and were using around 13500 kWh a year, now adjusted all radiators to full on, and programmable thermostat, and now run at around 11000kWh a year. Set thermo stat to 19C and everyone is happy.Got one of those already, we just want to control individual radiators0 -

hmmm thanks, I take your point, but I still think it would be useful to be able to adjust individual radiators.
Might rethink though as it seems quite expensive0 -
Is that cost including supplying the TRVs? assuming so it sounds a bit on the high side even before vat.
In regards to Blackbeards comments, cost saving isn't the be all and end all of fitting TRVs, it can still be useful to have individual control of rads, for example our stat situated in living room, most rooms will match the temperature in there except we have a reptile room in which the heating of vivs bumps temps right up, there's no need for the rad in there to be on full or even on at all sometimes, and as much as we could still turn it off etc without trvs it makes things easier.0 -
yeah it is including the supply. Agree it sounds high so I'm waiting on others.
The main reason we want it is to better control the temperature in the bedrooms.0 -
we paid £45 + vat for supply and fit for 10. We won't go into how dire the stuff these plumbers used and how badly they mucked up the installation though.....0
