Is the weather putting people off viewing houses at the moment?

My house went back on the market a fortnight ago, I had 3 viewings really quickly and then nothing since.
When it first went on the market in September, there were loads of viewings and it sold within a month (before buyers pulled out this month)
I am hoping it is just the weather at the moment, it all just seems so quiet!

Possibly not the weather...as I see you are in Somerset. Unless you live pretty rurally and then it could possibly be the case even for a southern county.
Are you living in the sticks/semi-rurally or in a town?0 -
Yes he weather has an impact, but so does the fact the property has been on the market before/for a while.
Buyers have seen it on Rightmove before. Unless he price has dropped, they may glance, recognise..... and move on.0 -
I know that this is not going to help. But we are renovating our house with the plan to sell in two years. I have been on right move a lot over the last 3-6 months looking at areas, schools, average prices to see what I could get for my money. Also how quickly properties sell in the area's we want. I don't think that having it on right move for a while makes a massive difference but I have noticed that some houses listings have not been updated for a year.
Have to say that would put me off a little. They may not be anything wrong but there may be. There is the most beautiful house by us that has been on the market for 2 1/2 years ???? I just hope it is still there when we are ready to move. ha ha
Why not ask your estate agent to simply update the listing that way it shows as a last updated on date.
Also as the other post said it has been cold and also January can be a hard month for lots of people. Straight after Christmas etc. I would speak to your estate agent.Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0 -
I am in Surrey, and desperately looking for properties, but sellers here don't seem that bothered. (only allowing viewings in a 1 hour window every 3 weeks for example...)
I don't know about other people, but this is my favorite time of year to view properties. If a house is attractive when it is dark, grey and cold then it will be lovely in the summer!0 -

If it's snowing people won't venture out.
However, reading all the reports that Surrey and London are going to climb in price again this year, and the overflow from London has pushed Surrey prices up even more, I'd say sellers are waiting for the spring when they can market their places at a higher price.0
