Transferring cash from abroad

Hi,
I currently work in China and my salary is paid into a Bank of China (Union Pay) account. I don't intend to settle here and after 3 years I plan to move back to the UK.
My UK account is a Natwest one I have had since I started Uni, and I have just opened a Halifax one too (so I can pay off CC bills online when using Clarity card abroad - also came with a 100 switch bonus!)
With regards to moving my savings back to the UK account does anyone have any knowledge of how this can be achieved with minimal money been lost trough transfer fess etc?
Probably a bit of a long shot as it's quite a specific question but wondered if there were UK accounts that were better for these sort of situations? I also had a conversation with someone who advised withdrawing cash when back in the UK with my Union Pay card...
Thanks in advance
Tom

Have you checked whether any of the specialist currency transfer services can help?0

IF they do Chinese Yuan, then I really recommend CurrencyFair for best exchange rates - I've used them for years for £ to € - sorry cannot post a link. Simple to set up in & out Bank accounts, then do it all online as you need to - regular or ad hoc transfers.
I have just opened a Halifax one too
HOW? I've been trying to open a UK Sterling account for ages but they all state UK residents only. What's your secret?0 -
