Barclaycard Initial

in Credit cards
So i'm coping well with my debts but having picked up on a few things on this forum, I decided to apply for a Barclaycard - Credit history not great in terms of payday loans and the like, but repayment history impeccable.
I got accepted and have had an email and SMS stating my card is in the post. Cool beans.
This post is for clarification really - As long as i keep track of the charges/%ages for purchases etc (will not be withdrawing cash on this card), and pay off in full every month, I won't pay a single penny in interest? I elected to set up a DD for the full balance on each statement so feel safe in that it will be paid off every month (carefully tracking the likely balance)....

This is correct, although I don't understand what "charges/%ages for purchases etc" you mean to track. The only you have to track is your spending. Be very cautious not to exceed the credit limit as it's likely to be small, and not all transactions affect the available balance instantly....This post is for clarification really - As long as i keep track of the charges/%ages for purchases etc (will not be withdrawing cash on this card), and pay off in full every month, I won't pay a single penny in interest? I'm almost sure my old CC charged for purchases... Like a fee of x% or £x whichever was greater... Might be wrong though. If purchases don't incur a charge then that's fine. I'm just waiting on the paperwork so I can read through it to see if there's anything to look out for.
The credit limit is miles higher than I expected, but I got this card purely to help build up some history other than repaying loans and phone contract. One thing i've been doing recently is keeping receipts and noting them down in a "spending diary" so I know exactly where my money is going and this CC will replace my debit card for normal spending, only it will "go through the books". Thanks for your reply

I don't know any CCs that charge for purchases in UK (in £ to be precise), although some companies can charge extra for CC payments.
Instead of waiting for paperwork you can just Read summary box0 -
Be prepared for a low limit, between £150 - £250. That's how they got me, they adververtised three months 0% on purchased but gave a lousy £150 limit, after the three months where up they increased my limit to £600. Not that I needed the 0% but it's good to get your foot in the door, so to speak.0

They've given me an £800 limit to start with with 6 months 0%. Are they the kind of company to promise you one thing and deliver something else? As far as charges I think I was just thinking about cash withdrawals as they did that on my old card (not that I will be withdrawing any) .0
