Natwest Platinum Acc advice

Hi All, need some of your advice again
i initially took out the natwest platinum because the cost of the travel insurance and breakdown recovery and other bits more than covered the £16 a month.
However i cant see anything in the terms that requires me to have income coming into the account as long as i pay the fee.
so wondered....
1. is this actually a good deal or could i get a better deal buying the insurance and breakdown cover seperately?
2. would i be better off having my salary go into a high interest account and get more benefits from that elsewhere?

Travel insurance and breakdown recovery and other bits come with a Nationwide FlexPlus for £10, and the FlexPlus pays 3% AER on up to £2,500.
May be worth a look (not sure what the "other bits" are, and how important they are)
Oh, and switch your Natwest to the FlexPlus for £50 cashback from Quidco....http://www.quidco.com/nationwide-flexplus-current-account/?ac0
