They appear to have sold a car they didn't have the right to.
They are the "experts" and supposed to check everything thoroughly.
I wouldn't play nicey nicey in this situation.
What worries me is that, after searching online for feedback regarding the dealer, it seems they were fined 6 years ago for "clocking" cars. When he found this he actually called the DVA to double check if everything was ok, and it was, but still, the fact that they did it in the past is a bad sign...
He'll visit them tomorrow, and will call the financial institution too.0 -
The Finance institution will only want to know one thing.
Is he paying the bill ?
If not they will bring forward the Repo tender.
They put it out to tender, the first to lift the car gets the money.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
I hear the work is so busy still with repo. men that the average car is getting them an average bounty of £100. Only the prestige and scooping ones from the elderly are draws now.0

by law the dealer should pay for the finance. But if they're clocking cars and have ccjs on them [I assume] good luck with getting the money.
These cowboys would rather their entire business gets shut down and then start trading illegally under their kids names than repay £1000 to a customer they miss-old on.
But it's worth trying.
Buyer beware: always do your own HPI checks. It's only £20 - it often feels like a waste of money when it comes back clear. But the gamble isn't worth it when you can potentially have all your asset taken away. PLUS have your vehicle repod before an important appointments which could have additional losses.0 -
Just notify Black Horse that you bought it from a dealer, give them the dealers details and job done.0
