New subforum - Early Years

would it be better to have a "early years" sub forum?
what i would find helpful would be a MSE guide to MSE Baby moneysaving
this would be a series of stickies in said subforum covering:
baby freebies and vouchers - websites/companies to register with for freebies
information websites
reviews of 'stuff' (cots/car seats/nappies etc)
recomended shopping list of things you need
Legal info
Theses are all things i need to know, e.g. which baby seat, which pram, reviews of reusable nappies, what to get, what to take to the hospital etc
Off course after those there are the usual queries that people have, but whilst all that information is available, its's spreadout at the moment, and i'm tbh lost in the wealth of information, made worse by the fact that i know there are moneysaving opportunities i'm not taking advantage of!
whats peoples views? the pregnancy and parents clubs would fit into it, and i think as a sub forum it would be heavily used, afterall look at the length of those threads!!!!

Totally agree with you ukbandit - my DH and I are thinking of starting a family at the end of the year and find the website invaluable but it is becoming increasingly difficult to keep up with it all.

A forum with it all in the same place would be really useful.
Top idea :TKeep smiling - it makes people wonder what you've been up to........:)0 -
hobel, welcome to MSE, let me be the first to thank you too

thanks for the support. could the mods maybe setup a poll on the idea?0 -
I like this idea. It'd also be useful for finding baby related chatty/ advice threads. Using the term early years, to me this is under 5's, I'm not sure what the offical definition is?
I would assume that the school related threads would stay on the main board as would asking for advice about primary school aged children?
Good idea though. Has my vote!0 -
5 years sounds good for starters. it could be made clear in the text for the sub-forum.
maybe it could be everything until primary school (including nursery)?0 -
I'm suprised there are only 2 takers for this? surely there are more of you as confused as we are with what to read and where to find it?
even if you think its a bad idea, let us know!0 -
Hi All, I competely agree, it would save so much time having one place to look for tips instead of trawling everywhere hunting offers down.0

yep good idea
and yep early years usually refers to under 5s
bring it on!0 -
great, so 4 er.....for and 0 against

can we have a poll?0
