Its best to claim ESA by phone on 0800 0556688. They can process the claim after that.

If you want to send an esa1 form, it.ll take upto 7 working days to get there before it can be looked at. The address will be

Whatever benefit centre for your post code area
Mail handling site a or b
    Wolverhampton
    Wv99 whatever

Depends where you live basically so best to phone instead

I've filled the form in now so I'd rather just get it sent than have to waste time on the phone to them. Thanks

You'll have to call them anyway to ensure it goes to the correct Mail Handling Unit. Still call the number given above.
  • And you can usually get a postage paid envelope from your local JobCentrePlus - saves paying the postage :-)
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.

Very true. Why do I never think of the obvious? :D

Alternatively, take the ESA1 into the JC and ask them to forward it.

You've got the form filled in so it will be easy to answer the questions and will result in a faster service if you claim over the phone.

I'll still have to send the supporting documents anyway so surely posting the whole lot together saves wasting their time?

Its easier to do it via phone actually. They do your application you sign the statement send a sick note for the condition stated and wait till they process your claim. About a week or so after your claim is processed you will get an esa50, Limited capability application *i say application its more like a book* you need to fill in and send back before the date stated or they stop your claim.
