Hi,

Has anybody used EPS power saver, which plugs into main wall socket and saves 10-20% on electricity usage, and is it any good?

Here is a link about the device

Thanks in advance

  • I've heard of similar systems which improve the powerfactor in industrial equipment. I wouldn't have thought they'd be much use in a domestic situation though because electricity companys dont bill domestic customers based on power factor.

No point at all in domestic customers having one of these devices - for the reasons stated above.

Without getting too technical, large industrial factories etc have their electricity consumption measured in a different manner, so have to take steps to reduce their charged consumption by using devices to correct the power factor.

Domestic customers and smaller business users are charged on a different basis and these devices will not affect your consumption on the meter.

If there was a way of reducing consumption as easily as this, the Government would insist on them being fitted.

This has been covered in lots of technical forums; I believe I am correct in sying that they will only advertise on-line.
