Lots of interesting posts, thank you x
I don't feel depressed, I've been through a lot of change, the three top ones have been divorce, debt and moving house, oh and moving jobs and setting up a small business. All of those things are better now - debt gone, remarried to my sole mate, DD nearly grown. I'm wondering whether its some kind of PTSD, its like I can't enjoy being free of these things as much as I longed to enjoy being free of these things.
It's strange but I keep telling myself that if I don't enjoy the now, it will be gone and i will regret not enjoying it while it was good. I'm mid 40s by the way, but my thirties were one big long nightmare.
What a muddle
Never again will the wolf get so close to my door :eek:0 -
As you get older you exchange the highs and lows of life from the perspective of a youngster experiencing things for the first time for the calm, contentment and wisdom of a responsible, experienced person. It can be a bit dull. I love the calmness that absence of fear abut the future, money and relationships brings but I can see that others of a differing disposition might just see the ennui of safety. Try sky diving or giving away all your money. Drugs or crime might provde a thrill. Or thank your stars you are in a position of good fortune and safety!0

I remember when I was about 24, I was relatively successful career wise, but having been through some very hard times I was just grateful for my blessings, although nothing in life got me even vaguely excited. It was such a sad way to live. That changed in my late 20s, now I'm older I try to find joy in everything.
What was the turning point? Falling hopelessly in love, sad but true.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
