How can I Check my old UK Credit History from abroad

I am from the UK but moved away 15 years ago... I have reason to believe that someone i know has used my personal details to get bank accounts, overdrafts, catalogues etc etc and run up debt in my name. I have tried to get my credit history from the online credit history websites but none will accept my current address as it isn't in the UK but need to use my current address as that is the address that is linked to my credit card that you have to put in... I got so far on Experian and they needed to confirm that i was who i said i was and asked me some questions saying a bank account has been found in my name set up in 2008 could i say who it was with and what the overdraft was... i moved away in 2000 so this worries me immensely what more there could be..... If anyone help with what to do next would be a huge help....
thanks
Carol

    Hi

It is more difficult to get a copy of your UK credit file when you live overseas.

Posts #2, #3 in this thread gives some info from an experian rep about what they will need to link your current address to your old UK address. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5111298

I believe you also need to pay by postal order or cheque to get the report whilst overseas not by card.

There is also a suggestion relating to getting your equifax report whilst abroad on that thread (no idea how likely it is to work).

Do you think this person has used your old UK address to obtain credit?
