Failed once....want to try again!

Writing for some help and advice please.
Me and my hubby bought a house in 2004. After a few years of struggling with repayments due to work and general foolishness to be honest, the house was reposessed in 2010.

Since then we've rented for 5 years and although our credit is still a shambles, we are both working and have never missed a rent repayment etc as we now have a small family and have grown up tons!

We are not eligible for Council Housing but unsure how the heck we'd get a Mortgage with our track record and really unsure how the shared ownership things work etc....Could anyone give me some advice please.

I dont expect to get a house anytime soon but Im trying to look forward and plan some security for my children.

Thankyou in advance.

It's worth getting the debt paid (offer a F&F settlement for any outstanding defaults), then trying to get a credit-building card from the likes of Aqua, Cap1 or Vanquis, making sure you put only tank of fuel each month and paying in full by direct debit.

Only when the defaults have gone and you're in better position with your credit file will anyone be willing to lend.

The higher deposit you have, the better the chance of acceptance afterwards, but nothing until at least 2016, I'm afraid.
