Solicitor moving the goal posts

My current situation is that I have had an offer accepted on a property and have previously instructed a solicitor as it gave me a bit more of a bargaining power.

It was the same panel as the vendors so I was hoping it might speed things up a bit. They sent me a quote which came to £2555 including £1,1000 stamp duty, which wasn't too bad.

Now they have sent me a pack that now says £2,800 with a few extra fee's that were not there before. All I've done is pay a £100 deposit to them. Is it possible as this point to just say no thanks and go look else where? It is one of these no sale no fee's kind of solicitors so I'm hoping I'll get the £100 back.

    Why the difference?

Were there things you didn't tell them at the outset, such as leasehold not freehold?

"Same panel" sounds like a conveyancing warehouse or estate agent conveyancing outfit sold to you as "It'll work so much better as you're both using the same firm/panel/marketing group etc."

What did the fee quote say about introductory fees paid to third parties?

Nope nothing has changed, they have said in the small print there re extra fee's, like if you are buying with a mortgage its an extra £100. My problem is that they knew I was buying with a mortgage and when they broke down the quote it didn'y mention any of it. I said I will only go with them if they showed every single thing I needed to pay not just in the small print.
