Getting Out of Holiday Club Contracts

My husband has a 30 year (!!) contract with a holiday club which he took out before we met. He wants to end this and any advice on how to or who to go to would be most appreciated. We have made some initial attempts with the company involved but they are deflecting all out attempts.
