Hi everyone!

On the back of our #dumpyourjunk decluttering Twitter Q&A with Mrs Green Rachelle Strauss we wanted to ask you how you do your spring clean and does it work for you?

Do you do all your tidying up in one fell swoop or as you go along so you don't have to?

Do you do it one way but would rather do it the other?!

It looks like most of us do a bit of both. Wish I could be a complete "as I go along" person but with two kids it just doesn't happen even when I try!

Any more for any more? :)

Definitely a "tidy as you go" for me.

At one time, I used to do a BIG spring-clean every April, taking 2 weeks Annual Leave (carefully incorporating my birthday);) to do it.

I can't possibly do that now; I retired on health grounds in 2001 (last actually worked in 1999) and one of the things I have to do is carefully pace myself, as chronic fatigue is one of my bugbears.

I have a master list of all the cleaning tasks, colour coded for each room, also a separate colour for the things I need Mr LW to assist with, (such as cleaning the bath-lift), and I get through as much of that as I can manage each week - any tasks that get missed, I make an effort to ensure I do the following week, so nothing gets 'orribly dirty. Plus of course, being retired, I'm here the whole time, so I can do a bit, rest, do some more and so on.

Also, Mr LW and I both live by Flylady Valli's mantra: "Don't put it down, put it away.

I'm fortunate that Mr LW is more than willing to do whatever is needed, and never complains, even if I ask him to scrub the loo.:A
